North Shields Juniors AFC

Since its formation in 1996 with three junior soccer teams, the Club has enjoyed continued success and rapid development, until in the current season of 2008/2009 we have 37 teams in the age range of 8 to 17 years plus seniors men's and ladies teams - a total of over 550 playing members proudly wearing the North Shields Juniors strip.

From the inception of the club with junior soccer, mini soccer was added in 2001 followed a few years later with the introduction of a soccer skills format on Saturday mornings, which allows us to provide our members with the opportunity to participate in soccer from the age of 5 right through to senior level.

The Girls section was introduced in 2002 and has itself enjoyed exceptional success and growth to provide us this season with 7 teams - again giving everyone to opportunity to progress to our "ladies" team

At the start of last season we achieved Charity status, and our proudest achievement to date occurred during the year when we were awarded the flagship "Charter Standard Community Club" - the highest accolade currently available. As a sign of our commitment to the youngsters of our "community" we believe everyone should have the chance to participate and develop irrespective of ability, and as a further step in this direction we have recently had Manager's/Coaches attending a course to enable us to integrate deaf persons into our club.

From our Trustees through the management committee to our qualified Managers and Coaches, the Club is run on a purely voluntary basis with the pure intention to provide grass roots soccer in a structured, safe and fun setting for all those who wish to partake.

To the future, the club never stands still and we continue in our efforts to establish our own ground and base, and we look forward to all our current and future members joining us on our continued developments and successes in this and future seasons.
