SHIELDS LIZARDS MATCH REPORTS |
Wallsend Boys Club 5-a-side League League: Under 7's
Sunday 10th February 2007
North Shields Lizards v North Shields Dragons
The two new North Shields Teams made their first 5-a-side appearance
of the season when they faced each other in a pre-season friendly at
Wallsend Boys Club. The game followed on from last weeks practice session
at the Boys Club where the players got used to the pitch and the rules.
To prepare for the league starting next week the referee agreed to
the teams playing two matches against each other. Both games were exciting
affairs with all the players doing exceptionally well.
New managerial appointments Kevin Ging and Rob Dunwoodie for the Dragons
along with Martin Gordon and John Harvey for the Lizards prepared their
teams before the kick off and gave their instructions to the players
from the touchline. The players responded well and gave their all for
their teams. Adam Harvey and Aaron Gordon both scored twice each over
the two games for the Lizards with other goals coming from Joshua Nandy
and Joshua Nicholls. Nicholas Atkin, Marcus Joyce and Robert McKenzie
all played well and the team put together a strong performance. Matthew
Adamson grabbed a superb penalty for the Dragons and there were great
performances from Thomas Patterson, Josh Finlay, Cameron Patterson,
David McLean and Ronan Dunwoodie as the Dragons played extremely well.
Both teams, managers and parents were a credit to North Shields Juniors
– the future looks in good hands. Well done to everyone.
