MATCH REPORTS
Cramlington Bayern 8 - North Shields hawks 1 (Scott Stidolph)
On the back of a well earned draw last week. NSH looked to build on their performance. Their oppostion (Cramlingotn) an experienced outfit having been together for over a year..Cramlingtons experience showed from the kick off, and NSH having only been together for just under 3 months were under the cosh. NSH struggled to compete with Cramlingtons organised passing and movement. There were some spirited performances particulary James Carmichael who's kicking has improved greatly over the season found himself making a number of fantastic saves to keep NSH in the game. Regan Law outstanding in defence helped to keep Cramlingtons goal tally down with brave tackling and excellent marking.. NSH not only had to compete with strong opposition but also the weather which was extremely hot. Unfortunately NSH had to play the whole match without any subs which took alot out of the players who got no rest, and when James Carmichael injured his hand in a goal mouth incident, Joel Griffin generously offered to step in to the goalkeepers role to allow James to play outfield and prevent any further risk of injury to his hand. After an excellent display outfield Joel put in an superb performance in goal with some tremendous finger tip saves. After falling a number of goals behind Scott Stidolph was awarded a penalty for a foul in the box, which unfortunately he hit too well and went over the bar. NSH's never say die attitude payed off and Scott Stidolph turned onto a loose ball which he struck past the keeper on his near post.
Man of the Match Regan Law
03/04/11 - North Shields Hawks 1 - Bedlington 1
After an indifferent performance last week against a strong Wallsend side and the loss of two players, Rohan Brown (injured, out for the rest of the season) & Will Logan (moved to Cramlington Juniors), NSH were desparate for a good performance. Bedlington kicked off and soon found themselves on the back foot as NSH kept them pinned in their own half with some slick passing and tenacious tackling. The new look line up seemed to be paying dividends, with Joseph Allison and Regan Law holding firm at the back, Scott Stidollh relishing his new roll in centre midfield, Tom King showing potential up front. Joel Griffin putting in a stirling performance down the left and Patrick Hickey looking settled in his new roll on the right side of midfield. All seemed to be going to plan with a number of shots from Tom and Scott just missing the target. But Bedlington began to get back into the game and had several chances which, thanks to some brave and cat like reflex saves from James Carmichael, were snubbed out. Unfortunately, due to a mix up at the back, Bedlington sneaked the opener. This only spurred NSH to try and get an equaliser. Dan Murdoch came on for the injured Joel Griffin and showed plenty of enthusiasm running all over the pitch. The further the match went on the more likely NSH looked liked scoring with a number of near misses. The equaliser came in the 3rd quarter with a sweetly struck long range shot from Scott with a wonderful celebration to follow which the whole team participated!
27/03/11 - Wallsend BC Barca 6 - North Shields Hawks 0
After last weeks emphatic win hopes were high going into this match, and from the opening minutes things looked promising, with NSH having plenty of posession in their opponents half. But against the run of play Wallsend hit NSH on the break to open the scoring. Unfortunately NSH fortunes didn't improve and slipped further behind with a futher five goals to follow...............................On the positive it's spring and the weather was glorius.
Man of the match Scott Stidolph

North Shields Hawks 3 (J Griffin 2, S Stidolph 1) - Walker Whites 1
After a disapointing result last week NSH were in need of a good performance and result. From the whistle NSH battled and competed in evey area of the pitch. with some excellent crisp passing and moving. Even though NSH were kicking into the wind in the first 10 mins. the ball rarely left Walkers half. The pressure applied by NSH paid of with a superb strike from Joel Griffin, which Walker's keeper couldn't hold onto. It was soon followed by a second from Scott Stidolph in the second quarter. All was going to plan and NSH looked solid with Regan Law & Patrick Hickey holding the line tremendously at the back. The third quarter saw Walker sneak a life line in the game and pulled it back to 2-1. But rounding off a truly exciting match and excellent performance, Joel griffin put the game out of reach with a well taken second goal.
06/03/11 - Cramlington 2 - North Shields Hawks 1 (Rohan Brown)
After the Hawks tremendous result last week, hopes were high for a similar outcome. From the whistle the Hawks were fast out the blocks with some neat passing and moving which lead to a goalmouth scramble, where upon Rohan Brown was quick to capitalise on the situation and poked home the opener with great composure. North Shields held fast until the second quarter with Regan Law commanding the back line with great maturity. Unfotunately as North Shields pushed on to try and get a second goal they were caught on the break and Cramlington levelled the score. North Shields continued to threaten with a number of near chances from Tom King and Joel Griffin. The game was fast flowing from end to end with some tough tackling and excellent movement both off & on the ball. Unfortunately for the Hawks Cramlington sneaked a second to take the win. The result wasn't deserving of the Hawks' effort and performanceand a draw would have been a fairer result.
Man of the match - Regan Law
27/02/11 - North Shield Hawks 4 - Bedlington Town Inter 1
After a tough couple of weeks the Hawks were searching for their first victory. From the kick off the match was a high paced affair with Bedlington dominating possession, and were camped in the Hawks' half for long periods of the first quarter. After falling a goal behind in the later stages of this quarter, the Hawks showed a brave fighting spirit and hit back with some neat passing and and two tremendous goals from William Logan. This gving the Hawks' a well deserved lead. The third quarter threw up arguably the greatest goal of the season so far when a long kick from the Bedlington keeper fell perfectly for Joseph Allison to hit a 30 yard screamer on the half volley, which flew into the top corner. Scott Stidolph followed this up with an accomplished finish to put the game beyond Bedlington.
Man of the Match - William Logan
13/02/11 - North Shields Hawks 0 - Wallsend BC Madrid 8
The newly created North Shields Hawks had a stern test for there opening game against an accomplished Wallsend side. The first quarter was a tight affair with North Shields battling hard in defence. Regan Law putting in a magnificent display in defence and James Carmichael outstanding in goal. However North Shields great effort wasn't enough and they were caught out by two goals in quick succession. North Shields tried their very best to get back into the game with William Logan pushing hard down the left and Scott Stidolph leading the line. But chasing the game left gaps in their defence and dispite heroic performances from the midfield Joseph Allison, Tom King and Joel Griffin the new boys slipped further behind. Dan Murdoch, Patrick Hickey both ran their socks off and their enthusiasm was in abundance. An excellent battling performance with a never say die attitude. Signs of a formidable team in the making.
