Match Reports

Sunday 11 Oct 09 - Tesco Cup Match 2nd Round - West Denton 1 - North Shields Vipers 4

This game was played in very strong winds which did not suit the Vipers passing style.  West Denton closed the Vipers down very quickly early on and it took the Vipers 20 mins to score the first goal.  West Denton equalised but the Vipers were quick to respond with a further 2 goals before half time - this completed a hat trick for Jack Storey.  The second half the Vipers played against the wind and a final goal from Ryan Pearson sealed the game.

Sunday 4 Oct 09 - League Cup Match 1st Round - North Shields Vipers 3 - Ashington 3 - AET Ashington won 2-1 on penalties

This was a pulsating cup tie with both teams performing at the top of their game.  The Vipers were 3-1 down at half time but rallied magnificently in the second half to pull it back to 3-3.  Both teams had opportunities to win the game in extra time but unfortunately it ended up going to penalties.  Despite two great penalty saves by Danny Lansdell, Ashington won 2-1.  Vipers goals were scored by Christian Dina, Dean Rogers and Reece Paramos.

Sunday 27 Sept 09 - League Match - North Shields Vipers 1 - Newcastle City Juniors 3

In a match between the top two teams from last season's 4th Division they played a tight, evenly balanced first half ending in 1-1 draw.  Despite 100% effort from the vipers in the second half Newcastle City showed that extra bit of class and won the match comfortably. Vipers goal was scored by Adam Hildreth.
